06/16/2008	He’s Baaack!! The Lightning are very pleased to announce the return of Coach Jeremy Daughaday to the staff. After helping coach the BCL 93 team to the SCAHA and CAHA Bantam A titles two years ago, Jeremy left California to coach the St. Louis AAA Junior Blues 93 team last season. After a successful year in St. Louis, Jeremy missed California and Beach City enough to agree to return. Jeremy will be a primary assistant on the Midget 16AA 93 team, but will be working with all the teams this season on an on-going basis. We welcome him back as a great addition to our coaching staff.

06/02/2008	The “Meet the Beach City Lightning” held June 1 drew approximately 100+ visitors at the DoubleTree Anaheim. It was great to have such a good turn out, and we hope that everyone went away with valuable information, no matter where they attend upcoming tryouts. [ view our promo video ]

05/11/2008	Matt White and Dakota Eveland became USA Hockey Tier 1 Jr. National Champions last night with the Omaha Lancers. They won 4-3 in overtime of the deciding game five against Waterloo.

04/16/2008	The Lightning held their 15th Annual Awards Banquet for the 2007-2008 season on April 13. "This is one of the rare opportunities for the whole Lightning Family to get together and reminisce about the season just passed," said President Kevin Culbertson. In addition to recognizing all of the Lightning Players, team members and volunteers, the Lightning awarded their Athletes of the Year which included Sean Scola of the Squirts, Alberto Gomez of the PeeWee Bs, Cole Euell of the PeeWee A, Nicholas Florentine of the Bantam B, Jack Gardner of the Bantam A, Andrew Daehlin of the Bantam AA, Kamran Qadeer of the Midget 16s, and Nate Tomasewski of the Midget 18s (see photo). Also, the Trevor Win'E Excellence in Leadership Award was presented to Bantam AA player Ben Glick and Midget 18 player Ryan Panella (see photo) with the presentation made by Trevor's sister Tracy. "We want to thank all our volunteers for another terrific season!" said Culbertson.
